Previous KAPstone House Programs If you would like on any of these programs please e-mail us at kapstonehouse@sbcglobal.net General Loss Group - KAPstone House provides support groups in which members participate based on their age, type of loss, and unique circumstances related to the death of a loved one. A therapeutic curriculum guides participants through discussions and activities that allow for peer support as well as individual healing. Most families participate two times per month for one to two years with support groups held in the evening. Adults may attend with or without children; however, all children must be accompanied by an adult. There is no set fee to participate in support groups but donations are encouraged.
Please note: Support Groups are not therapy sessions. Therapy seeks to change behavior, belief or thought. Support groups are for open and honest expression; a place to help enhance coping skills and minimize feelings of isolation.
"Always In My Heart" - Our "Always in my Heart" Scrapbooking group aims to put together the photos and thoughts you have about a loved one who has died, or a situation you feel you would like to remember. We hope the class teaches the importance of preserving the memories of loved ones that are "Always in our Hearts". It also helps to leave a legacy for future generations of the love that we put into every page. It will teach people how to get started with scrapbooking and move forward through their loss. Other KAPstone House Programs Available: (Upon Request and Availability of Volunteers) "Mourning Coffee" - Date and Time to be determined. For ages 18 and up. Please call to inquire about this group. 417-206-4700. © 2004 - 2008 KAPstone House is neither a professional counseling service nor a medical organization; we offer peer support only.
