KAPstone House Rules for Safety
KAPstone House has rules developed to ensure the physical and emotional safety of the children and families.
#1 Stop Rule: "Stop and I mean it." When someone is doing something that feels unsafe to anyone, that child/teen needs to stop the activity immediately.
#2 Put-Down Rule: "Put-downs" include name calling and belittling others, which is not acceptable at KAPstone House. This rule is to ensure self-respect and respect for others.
#3 Hitting Rule: Children/teens may hit stuffed animals, walls, couches and chairs - but may not hit another person.
#4 Adult Rule: Children/teens must be with an adult at all times while at KAPstone House. They may not play in the front yard, the driveway or the side yard. They may not leave the building unless accompanied by an adult.
#5 Blood Rule: Children/teens are instructed not to touch blood. In the event that bleeding occurs they are instructed to tell an adult who will clean up the spill.
#6 Privacy Rule: What is said in the group at KAPstone House is private and confidential and stays at KAPstone House (with the exception of state-required reporting laws).
#7 "I Pass" Rule: Children/teens/adults can always "pass" if they do not want to talk or participate in an activity.
